How To Survive Quarantine as a Stoner
In March we started talking about “14 days to slow the spread”. Here we are in December and entering round two of quarantine. Toilet paper is starting to become scarce again, bars and restaurants are shutting down, and our leaders are once again limiting group sizes. Quarantine sucks, but we can survive. We did it once (or hell, some may never have stopped), and we can do it again.
Here’s 5 tips that I’ve learned along the way on how to survive quarantine as a stoner.
ONLINE SHOPPING
More packages are coming to your doorstep than ever before, but smoke shop type items can be hard to come by online. Luckily you’re already at the right place. Up-N-Smoke’s online smoke shop and head shop has a big variety of glass hand pipes, larger water pipes, and even papers to get you through. Find something that will get you excited for your next smoking session and give yourself something to look forward to.
KEEP IN TOUCH WITH FRIENDS
You might not be able to see your buddies sitting across from you, but that doesn’t mean you can’t hang. During the first shutdown I found myself facetiming some of my closest friends. We solved the world's problems, “shared” a toke together, and commiserated with one another about how much our situation sucked. It was almost therapeutic, and every time I got off the phone I found myself a bit more refreshed. So here’s what we suggest: Grab a bowl, text your buddy that it’s smoke time, and then give video chatting a try.
TOP SHELF ENTERTAINMENT
You heard the new PS5 is out. Why not treat yourself to some of the best entertainment around? Video games! Even if you can’t find the newest console, maybe you can find some new games or replay from the beginning games you’ve already mastered. Maybe gaming isn’t your thing. There is always countless streaming apps, new podcasts to explore, and I’m sure there’s a book you never got around to reading.
THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Smoking and the great outdoors just go together like PB&J. Grab a family member or a friend you’ve been quarantined with and pick out a hiking trail. Pack a dry herb vaporizer, a dugout, or your favorite rolling papers and set off for an adventure. It may be getting colder outside for most of the US, but it’s nothing a beanie and a warm scarf can’t handle. Plus, colder weather means less people on the trails. Even if you’re not hitting up a trail, it’s a good idea to get outside and enjoy some fresh air. It’s crazy how four walls can make you feel like a caged animal. Country car rides are also a great way to get outside, feel some movement, and lift your spirits.
SMOKING AND CLEANING
We don’t talk about it often enough, but occasionally something magical happens after daytime smoking sessions. Cleaning. You found a great sativa blend that makes you want to move your legs. There’s nothing like blaring the radio after a smoking sesh and deep cleaning your home. It’s a great way to check off to do list items and come out of a COVID quarantine with a sparkling clean home. It’s a win win situation, really.
Now you know how to survive a COVID quarantine like a champion. It doesn’t seem that bad, and following some of these tips can help keep your mental health in check too. Reach out to some fellow friends and stay connected (bonus points for virtual smoking sessions).
Up-N-Smoke is committed to staying here for you if you need us to accomplish any of these goals. Our online smoke shop offers a large variety of popular items and often shipping is within two days!
